Ken Garff Automotive Group Gifts Teachers Money for Their Classrooms

September 30th, 2026 by

Ken Garff Automotive Group is teaming up with 12News to bring a little extra support to Arizona classrooms this school year. As part of the relaunched A+ Teacher of the Week program, community members can nominate an outstanding Valley educator for recognition — and a chance to win $1,000 for their classroom needs, courtesy of Ken Garff Automotive.

Founded in 1932, Ken Garff is celebrating 94 years in business in 2026 — a family of 70 dealerships across 9 states with more than 5,500 employees, built on the philosophy “We Hear You.” In the Greater Phoenix area, Ken Garff has five dealerships: Kia (Avondale and Bell Road), Volkswagen (Gilbert), Chevrolet (Avondale), and Hyundai (Surprise).

Education has long been a priority for the company, rooted in Robert H. Garff’s belief that “education is the great equalizer.” It’s part of Ken Garff’s broader “We’re ‘Hear’ for You” community giving program, which supports schools, families, and neighborhoods across the Valley — from an annual Christmas event for students in Avondale to a companywide effort that recently packed 800 bags of food for students in need.

That same commitment is behind the A+ Teacher of the Week partnership. The program highlights teachers who go above and beyond for their students, giving them a well-deserved spotlight and the resources to make an even bigger impact in their classrooms. Each week, Ken Garff surprises a local teacher at their school with a $1,000 check — a simple thank-you to educators who give so much of themselves to their students.

Know a teacher who deserves recognition? Nominate them for 12News A+ Teacher of the Week at 12News.com for a chance at the $1,000 classroom grant from Ken Garff Automotive Group — and share their story, since that’s what really makes a nomination stand out.
